Hi, you submit a tax return normally in the May of the year following when your income was received. For example, any income received in 2009 will be submitted on a tax return in May 2010. These forms are only available around the beginning of May and hence if you see the tax office before that date, they will send you away empty handed. You can get your forms on line or at the tax office in Limoges, or St Junien, I assume. Once you have sumbitted your first return, the following year you will get one sent to you automatically with parts already filled in. If you have any income from the UK, eg pensions or savings interest(!) then you will also need a red form 2047 and for French income blue form 2042.
